나이팅게일 선서

Florence Nightingale Pledge

본 선서문은 히포그라테스 서약문을 일부 따른 것이며 플로렌스 나이팅게일을 기념하기 위하여 그의 이름으로 바쳐진 것이다.
1893년 미국 미시간주 디트로이트시 Harper 병원 Farrana 간호학교 졸업식에서 처음으로 사용된 것으로 사용되어 왔으나 각 간호교육기관에서 사용하고 있는 서약문이 통일되지 않아 사용중인 서약문을 수집 분석하여 서약문을 '선서'로 하고 대표자회의(1988. 1. 22)에서 통일번역문안을 마련, 제55회 정기 대의회총회(1988. 2. 12)에서 확정했다.

• 나는 일생을 의롭게 살며 전문간호직에 최선을 다할 것을 하느님과 여러분 앞에 선서합니다.
• 나는 인간의 생명에 해로운 일은 어떤 상황에서나 하지 않겠습니다.
• 나는 간호의 수준을 높이기 위하여 전력을 다하겠으며 간호하면서 알게 된 개인이나 가족의 사정은 비밀로 하겠습니다.
• 나는 성심으로 보건의료인과 협조하겠으며 나의 간호를 받는 사람들의 안녕을 위하여 헌신하겠습니다.

• I solemnly swear before God and you that I will live my life righteously and that I will give my best to the Nursing Profession.
• I will abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous and will not take or knowingly administer any harmful drug.
• I will do all in my power to raise the standards of nursing, and not fully disclose any personal information of the patient or the family which has come to my knowledge in the course of the performance of my duties.
• I will faithfully cooperate with my colleagues in other health professions and devote myself to the welfare of those under my care.
